Apparently it is spring although somebody seems to have forgotten to tell the weather that, anyhoo… Festival season is finally upon us! 2 weeks ago The Rainbow Venues in Birmingham kick-started the season with a techno monster in the form of Chapter 12, titled to celebrate their 12th Anniversary in the second city. Over in Mannheim, the monster of all venues, Maimarkthalle, hosted the German leg of Time Warp.
Back in the UK, the usual suspects: Creamfields, SW4, Glastonbury, V-Festival, Cocoon In The Park, Parklife and Lost Village to name but a few, have released absolutely insane line-ups. 2016 has seen promoters deliver a more diverse musical offering at their events, WeLoveIt.
Festival season brings with it new trends, both musically and in terms of social reforms. Will we see Huaraches shuffling about again? Will the boho look once again rear it’s frankly unwanted head or will ‘All Black Errything’ be the look of choice for the festival fashionistas!
WeHad an email drop into our inbox a few weeks ago inviting us to a different type of festival. Big Family Festival, is being held July 30th – 31st at Dunton Hall, just outside of Birmingham. The festival is sponsored by Johnsons Volkswagon and from what we have seen so far, it looks like it’s shaping up to be an incredible family festival. The organisers have put together a range of ticket options to allow families the flexibility to attend different days or stay and camp! So no more ‘I wish we hadn’t had kids so we could have gone Awakenings’ (WeKnow that at least 1 of you reading this has thought it!) Grab the wellies, dig out the tent, borrow or steal a picnic set and head on down!
