FACEBOOK LAUNCHES MUSIC STORIES FOR NEWSFEED - Welovedjs..net - News Reviews And Everything About Your Disc Jockey

We’re all too aware of Facebook’s unceasing hunger for world domination, evident by constant tweaks, updates, and additional features. Now the big blue F has added ‘Music Stories,’ a song sharing feature that will allow users to preview 30 second song clips from Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes on their newsfeed.

Releasing today, Music Stories is only available via Facebook’s iOS app, and will play song clips using Facebook’s own audio player – meaning that you don’t need to be a subscriber or have Spotify or Apple Music installed to sample your friends’ tunes.

“As Facebook has become the place where most people get their news, and with its rapidly growing video platform pulling in a staggering 8 billion views a day, getting back into music was the next logical step.” – Micah Singleton

The news comes after July’s reports of Facebook discussing their renewed interest in music with various labels, and with almost 900 million Facebook mobile users, the social media goliath certainly has the potential to influence the music industry. For the moment we’re stuck with only 30 second clips, but there’s every reason to suspect more features to be added soon. Watch the video below to get a glimpse of how the addition works.
